Taking it Off Auto-focus

While my camera is not on auto, there are still some settings that are.  I adjust the ISO, white balance, and the pace of the photo, but I have it still set on auto-focus.  This is the component that determines the depth of field.  How much of the front and back of the subject are in focus.

I did read up more on depth of field.  But the minute I put it in manual focus everything got SUPER blurry.  Like when you’re about to pass out, or put on drunk goggles.  Or for me in the morning, before I put my contacts in.

So, pretty quickly I put it back in auto-focus.  That will be for another day.  Or year :I
